I Still Don’t Have the Almanac from “Back to the Future”

It’s prediction time!  I can’t do any worse that last year in the awards department (Tim Lincecum and Matt Moore for Cy Young, anyone?), but I did do pretty well in predicting playoff teams.  You can hear all of our predictions for over/under win totals on this weeks podcast.  Here, it’s time for full division, playoffs, and awards predictions.

Division Standings

American League

East: Rays, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Yankees, Orioles

Central: Tigers, Indians, Royals, White Sox, Twins

West: Angels, Rangers, Athletics, Mariners, Astros

National League

East: Braves, Nationals, Phillies, Mets, Marlins

Central: Reds, Cardinals, Pirates, Brewers, Cubs

West: Giants, Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Padres, Rockies

Playoffs

American League Wild Card: Blue Jays over Rangers

American League Division Series: Rays over Blue Jays, Tigers over Angels

American League Championship Series: Rays over Tigers

National League Wild Card: Nationals over Dodgers

National League Division Series: Nationals over Reds, Braves over Giants

National League Championship Series: Braves over Nationals

World Series:

Braves over Rays (I know this is completely biased)

Awards

Most Valuable Player

American League: Mike Trout (In the running: Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols, Robinson Cano, Evan Longoria, Jose Reyes, and Adrian Beltre)

National League: Jason Heyward (In the running: Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, Buster Posey, Matt Kemp, Ryan Braun, Andrew McCutchen, and Martin Prado)

Cy Young

American League: Justin Verlander (In the running: Yu Darvish, R.A. Dickey, David Price, Chris Sale, and Felix Hernandez)
